Help!!! All the usual suspects are busy, some of them even moving to Japan... So it's only 14 days until the big Krita 4 release day, and it'll be a huge release, and we don't have a video showing of all the new features. See https://krita.org/en/krita-4-0-release-notes/ for a preview of what will be the main highlights!
A release video should be short, show off the main highlights in a fun and dynamic way. There's no need for voice-over, just some text introducting each feature, or subtitles... That's up to you. So! Who can make a cool video for us? Answers on a postcard -- or join us in #krita on irc.freenode.net. |

I have some experience with video editing, so I can try to create something. I just need details - how long should be this video and what are the most important things to highlight?

Awesome! Two, three minutes is plenty! The big things are the improvements to the vector support, the new text tool and scripting (though that might be hard to catch in a a video). Nice little things are the masked brush engine and the colorize mask feature. For the rest, cherry-pick what you want from the release notes!

If you need any help with getting video material, we can try to help to provide some, and we could also try and ask permission for some of the things others have done already. Like for example ndee's python test: https://twitter.com/ndee85/status/967075733347688449
The big problem for us is that editing together a video might just be an art of its own ![]() |

I'm not familiar with new vector tools, so I would appreciate if you could record some footage of these in action.
I'm targeting 1920x1080 60FPS (I hope my Vegas won't make problems with it). |

Ack, I won't be able to contribute then. I have vector and text stuff recorded, but my computer is 1600x900 and not powerful enough for 60fps recording while krita is running. For what it is worth, I had this(15 frames a second on the regular speed version) setup, but... |

Video is in the making.
![]() Can someone else record footage for me? Also I have one more request: to find some cool music for the video. This is as a plan B, if I'm not successful in making music for it. Music should be interesting, not generic bland music, you can hear often from stock sites, I want some quality music, that I can use in this video. |

I don't know anything about music, but I notice you're still using the old icon? Or am I misinterpreting things? Anyhow, if you hadn't noticed yet, you can get the new icon from the source: https://phabricator.kde.org/source/krit ... /pics/app/

I don't think we've got people who can really record interesting clips at that resolution; couldn't we make do with what we actually can produce? Note... The release is planned for March 14th already!

Same here.. I could record some sessions showing off the new painting tools like masked brushes, the new assistants and the updated interface in general...But my main computer is running at 1600 x 1200. I have a cintiq companion with higher resolution but I am not sure if it can handle Krita and video recording without lag.
For music, what do you have in mind? Perhaps I can help with that |

I'm going well with the recording and editing. I think I will record everything needed.
I'm trying to make the music, but it's way is pretty rocky, so I don't know, if I succeed. The request for you is to dig through free music sites like Jamendo and find a good piece for this video. I want to have uplifting orchestral music, but also not generic (putting generic music in videos is baaaad). Also, where should I send previews/finished video? |

I'm almost finished. I have just to record 1-2 footages and do some polishing. I should post a preview tomorrow, so you can give me a feedback before finishing.
![]() I don't know what's harder: making music or finding good free music. I can't compose it, sorry, I've overestimated my poor skills at music making and did numerous failed attempts. So the option is finding a good free music. When looking for it, I'm in the ocean of bland generic music, hard to find a gem. I would use this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtfjWleiHQ4 But it's copyrighted and would require getting a permission from Arena Net, and I don't know how to do it. I also have some idea: at the end of the video it would be nice to showcase some art made in Krita. I hope it's not too late. I don't know, if make a "contest" (people will submit their art to it and team will pick best ones) or everything will be picked by team. |

You can use the CC-By music of Kevin MacLeod
https://incompetech.com/music/ Each pieces needs attributions and a link to the license ( it's written under the song when you play it ). |

Video is done.
Here's a low resolution preview of it. It has some mistakes, I'll fix them in the final version. I'm looking for your suggestions and feedback. https://drive.google.com/open?id=10JA6ED9tmOmTgFPQ5z4Rq3URdRmF8HGr I hope, that the art showcase at the end will be filled. |
