The one thing that keeps me out of Krita right now is "Channels",
the way PS use channels is easy, fast and confortable.

On game development you are used to switch channels, or fill channels with different copied images,
for instance:
RGB, where R is metallic, G is roughness and B is Ambient Occlusion.
Or a normal map where you overwrite the Blue channel with AO and add an alpha for opacity...

the list of examples can go on, it's very common in game development,
but right now is a pain to work like that in Krita.

Please look at PS and fix that,
RGB channel work should be as easy as work with layers.

Also consider that Krita is open source so we're not the only people who can work on the code: you can, too. Even if you don't know C++ yet. You wouldn't be the first person to learn C++ through working on Krita.

Right now, we have no plans at all to work on channels in Krita. The rest of the year we intend to spend fixing bugs, improving performance, polishing and finishing existing features and getting rid of technical debt. Feature development must come from outside the core team.
