Sorry, not sure where to post this. Since this is in regard to donations, I guess this can be seen as adding to the development.

I was just wondering if there had been discussion about adding cryptocurrency donations to the site. People from anywhere in the world could easily donate and cut out the middle men. Ethereum or Litecoin would be great coins to look into because of their fast transaction times and fractionally low processing fees. I like Krita and would love to see it grow even more.

We've discussed this before indeed. The conclusion after last year's trouble with the tax authorities, we probably shouldn't. The extreme volatility of bitcoin makes it really scary to hold them, not being able to show a source for the income might give trouble and finally, there's always a middle man: in order to turn the thingies into real money one needs an exchange anyway.

At this moment, the most cost-effective way of donating is by a direct bank transfer.
