the eraser mode use the same brush that you are using to paint and that's horrible for sketching things would be so much easier if you could just choose a different brush to be the eraser that shouldn't be that hard to implement right ?

Hi gabriello,
Most artists we've talked to enjoy using the same brush to eraser with because it keeps the textural cohesiveness of a piece in tact. I can understand you'd want a different eraser size. There are four options to resolve this: 1. f5->Eraser Switch Size, this allow you to use a different eraser size for the brush. 2. using the / key to switch between an eraser preset and a drawing preset. 3. using the top side of your pen tablet to erase with. It is set by default to an eraser preset. 4. using tools->scripts->ten brushes, setting one of these to an eraser preset, and then, going to settings->configure Krita->configure keyboard shortcuts and searching for 'Activate Brush Preset' and changing the key of one of those to 'E'. The last one also allows selecting other favourite presets. |

i understand but new users expect to press E and be a different eraser like in other programs i think will be best if that's the default and for the people that want to use the same brush have the option to do that i think what makes a good program is have options for everybody

Using the "/" key as Wolthera said is the best way to keep your workflow. The "E" key switch the brush to eraser as the default in Krita. Personnaly i've started using Krita because of things like that. When you move to a new software, you have to adapt to it, not try to make it work like your old one...
