Hey all,
Love Krita. here are a few suggestions that would make my headaches go away: (if these options already exists please tell me because I haven't found them). TEXT EDITOR: 1. keep the previous settings for font size and color that were most recently used. or make it a setting you can set. it's a pain to constantly set those over and over again. 2. don't reset text that is in the editor window if you open and close "settings (in the text editor)" 3. with the text editor window still open, allow translation of the text on the canvas with CTRL key and click drag like in Photoshop. this way you can size and move around without constantly opening/closing the Text window. 4. do away with the separate text window all together and make the options appear on the shelf. Layers: 1. please make folders for grouping layers. 2. add CTRL+click on a layer to make a select of what's visible with marching ants. same as photoshop CTRL+click. 3. is there something in Krita equivalent to layer comps? |

hello,
I don't use the text editor much, but for the layers questions : 1. in the layer docker : the add (+) button allow you to add a "group", or you can select layer(s) and press CTRL+G 2. in the layer docker : right click on the layer and choose "select opaque" 3. i'm not sure if it's the same but you have a composition docker that allow you to hide/make visible the layers and "save" a composition to switch between them . Have a look here for more informations : https://docs.krita.org/fr/reference_man ... tions.html

For the text tool: There is no oncanvas editing because we rewrote the previous text tool which did have that and it was crashy and buggy. This may not be pretty but at the least it is predictable to use. We want to first support opentype and things like vertical writing properly before we would begin to consider oncanvas editing, and that will take a while as well.
For 1: Use the tool options. In 4.2 the text will also use the current active color by default. For 2. Please report a bug. for 3, probably impossible due to the way the dialog works. For ctrl+click on layer thumbnail-> that is now properly in 4.2. |
