Good afternoon,
I am currently designing an extension of gamut masking (now available in nighly builds): the ability to save selected masks into the .kra document, so they are reapplied to color selectors upon reopening of the document (https://phabricator.kde.org/T9652; there is not much information at the moment, though). I would really appreciate feedback/insights from more artists, to make it great. If you use gamut masking, or plan to use it, would you share where it fits in you workflow? Do you use only one mask per work of art, or multiple? Do you have a specific process of using them? If you have anything else to add, please do. Thanks |

Like: 1. Gamut mask shape; 2. Gamut mask shape position; 3. Dockers general settings (local and global); 4. Maybe reset buttons for each of them.
I rotate the shape very often and switch the shape of the gamut mask altogether while on the same document. I use it freely, as a reference to limit colors "by moods". Saving shape and position per document would be useful in my opinion. |

I would like to see this feature in as well. Aside from saving the Gamut Mask position, maybe add some "preset" position as well. For example, I have 5 preset buttons where I can save a Gamut mask and position so that I can easily select those that I usually use.
Also, I'm not sure if it would fit the same feature but would it be doable to automatically rotate the gamut mask based on selected color? It would be nice to be able to just drag the color selection tool across the canvas and have the mask try to fit the range of colors where it can. It would rotate as little as possible to capture the last selected color. The idea is that if all the color fit the gamut mask, the mask would stop rotating |
