Animated brush options

Tue Nov 06, 2018 8:44 am
Hello for everyone, this is my first post here,

Im creating watercolor brushes set, trying to achieve the most natural as possible. Here is one of my test picture, its on this stage at the moment. Im still experimenting and looking for more variety in brushes.

Just I have question to developers if there is any chance to add some simple options for animated brush.

We have 5 selection modes now.
Constant
Incremental
Random
Pressure
Angular

Is there any chance to add additional options

1. Random by strokes - i mean frames of animated brush are not changing be every step of stroke but by every whole stroke.
This could give us more random whole traces (for example when I do dry brush I have always the same trace of it)

2. Another kind of randomity - more like noise -
For example we have brush frames
1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Now Random makes this I suppose: 1,2,5,2,3,1,5,4,3,2,5,3,3,4
Noise could do like this: 1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2,3,3,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,3,4,4,4,4,5,5,5,4,4,4,4,4,3,3,3,3,3,4,4,4,2,2,2,2, frames are changed randomly but staying longer for few steps and when changing - only to the closest neighbour.
This could give us in fact feeling of more random traces. Perfect could be doing in beetween frames with fading like:
1,1,1, 1.5, 1.5, 1.5, 2,2,2, 2.5, 2.5, 2.5, 3,3,3,3,3 and so on..
Picture illustrating this idea:

3. For Incremantal option, could be good to have suboption of "random start frame" to have different starting point for every stroke.

I think this options could be very helpful in further brush development.
