No offence, I just sometimes get the feeling that when people ask stuffs in the forum with example features and methods that other painting applications have, your basic answer is : 'We didn't try those and not even intend to do so, therefore we can't say much about what you want/ask.'
I fully respect whatever intuition or philosophy you have behind the krita development, and the most painting applications are closed source so it's probably not easy to figure out or use their mechanisms, but staying informed about what those (commercial) applications are doing doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Can be helpful for elaborating your directions or todo. Correct me if I'm wrong (about what you're doing). |

No, I don't check other painting applications. Just downloading one, opening it and doodling wouldn't be enough to really learn what's good and bad about them, and what workflows they support. You'd have to really use them for a longer period, and there simply is no time for that.
I think you don't realize how few people work on Krita, how many hours they spend on Krita, and how little there's left after that. And it's not like we're lacking ideas or plans or wishes or things to do... We've got seven hundred eighty four open bugs and wishes. And then again, we're not in the imitation business either, as explained here: see https://docs.krita.org/en/untranslatabl ... tures.html |
