Hello !
Since a recent update (Krita 4.2.0 I think, but maybe it's from Krita 4.2.2 or another 4.2.x update, I'm not sure), photoshop compatible profile doesn't work in "canvas input settings." I used it a lot for the "alternate invocations" on tools, especially to add or substract selections with the lasso tool (because the "alt", "shift", and "control" keys are shortcuts on my tablet so it's much quicker for a lot of things and I really prefer it that way). Also since the last update (4.2.5) the only profile available in Canvas Input is the "Krita Default" and the other disappeared. Is there a way to get these "alternete invocations" back easily ? (without having to configurate them one by one by myself) Thank you for your time, have a nice day |

Edit : I'm really having trouble configuring the shortcuts back like presented in this article :
https://docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/i ... oshop.html "Selections [...] Or hold: Alt to subtract from the selection Shift to add to the selection Alt + Shift to intersect" (and changing Shift when using the brush tool to activating the line tool instead of changing brush size) Can someone please help me with this ? I just want to work like before, with the same settings I had before updating messed them up ^^' I really like Krita and use it a lot (around 10 hours a day, sometimes more), and I really think a lot of stuff are more user-friendly and well thought than in other painting programs, but suddenly losing all of my shortcuts (that are a very important part of my workflow) is very frustrating and makes me waste a lot of time... and it's a shame to fear every update like that The must would be if someday krita users could configure every "keyboard shortcuts" and "input settings" on a single page and choose which secondary tool or function is activated when using a shortcut with a tool activated with something that could be organized like this : Tool shortcuts Brush tool = [B Key] Line Tool = [choose shortcut] .. Action shortcuts Zoom in = [+ Key] Zoom Out = [- Key] ... Contextual Actions Brush tool + control = [Choose action] + alt = [Choose action] + shift = [Choose action] [add custom shortcut] Outline Selection tool + control = [Choose action] + alt = [Choose action] + shift = [Choose action] [add custom shortcut] etc... I think it would be really awesome because every artist could easily adapt the software to their workflow PS : should I move this topic in another section ? (And if so which one ?) |

I can understand how important it is for you go go back to the way that you're used to. You may want to try doing that with an older version of krita. For Windows and Linux, this is easily done by running the Linux appimage or the Windows portable .zip package available from here: https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/
I don't know if it can work easily that way for MacOSX. Obviously, this will mean that don't have the advantage of bug fixes and new features incorporated along the way to 4.2.5. It's up to you to decide if this is a worthwhile thing but you can try it. If you do this, it would be a good idea to make a backup copy of your kritarc configuration file and kritashortcutsrc files for later restoration if needed: https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html ... les-stored Anytime you get a good configuration set up, you can make backup copies of those files for later reference and restoration as needed. For the situation itself, you can raise a formal bug report here: https://bugs.kde.org/ (registration and log in are needed). For your ideas about configuration, this is the place to discuss it. |

Hello !
That is what I thought, I tried to screenshot every config I made on 4.2.0 and use the same settings on 4.2.5 but that only worked for the line tool instead of changing brush size with shift, no change with the selection tool, so I changed back to 4.2.0 for now and hope it will get fixed soon ^^ PS : mcoudert it's nice to see you here too (we know each other from DPSchool ^^) Message to devs : I think it would be nice to put a "Known issues" section on the Release notes' page, that way when something stops working with an update users could choose more easily to wait for a bug fix in a future relase or update Krita anyway if they don't really use that functionnality For clarity, it could be presented that way for example : Known issues : Bug with the outline selection tool modifiers since 4.2.2 / currently not fixed Bug with... since 4.2.3 / fixed in version 4.2.4 ... |
