Hey together,
i recently buyed Krita on Steam for the support and in hope that it will run as smooth as the native version but ssadly it doenst work on any Proton version. Anyways is it possible that we will get the linux version on Steam too , cause i really like keeping track of my used time. Cheers, Sven ps.: Krita has become a really good software even so good that i cancelled my Adobe subscription and totally switched to linux, great job guys keep up the good work! |

Currently there is no linux version in steam, there is only appimages for linux, but from what I remember there were talks to see if appimages can be added to steam, I am not totally sure about this new though. As a workaround you can try the appimage or have the stable version from the repository of your linux distribution so that it gets updated along with the system. Running windows version of Krita with Proton might be a bad idea and would lead to bugs.
Welcome to the FOSS side, I hope more artists follow this route ![]() |

Yeah i just wanted the steam version running for time record other then that i'm using the downloadable appimage cause the repos from debian dont catchup that fast on krita.
Anyways thanks for the infos , still hoping the can put it up there too. Btw proton is never a option when working with graphic intense stuff other then games. Cheers, Sven Schilling |
