I mostly draw in full canvas and sometimes it confuses me when brush is not making anything.
And I had to go through shortcuts key to reveal that I was in eraser mode. #1 [Showing Eraser Icon] ![]() #2 [Showing Color] ![]() . . . -Although it's not a big deal of problem... I want to know what other artists think about this ? . . .

Hi,
A big +1 with the idea; Mypaint had something like that and I liked it. But I wouldn't like the inner part of the eraser 'outline' (the circle preview) to be filled with a color, nor getting a plain color for the stroke around it (by experience: it will always collide with a background being the same color and become invisible for someone). I would prefer just a different XOR color than the outliner with a parameter to customise the color: ![]() |

Thanks for the redirection to the good bug report @Tymond!
I experimented a bit with color of the outliner in preference to simulate what could look like a outliner with another color; here a blue 55,158,255 RGB + XOR making it red: ![]() |

What a really cool idea. Also this doesn't obstruct the UI.
Didn't know that feature wish-lists are discussed on bug tracker. Will more careful next time.

Usually, especially in cases like this one, better to first write on the forum. You can always check the bug tracker and phabricator (https://phabricator.kde.org/project/view/8/) if there are similar feature requests, if not, then please always write on the forum first, just as you did ![]() |

I guess that's my bad I saw someone on reddit suggesting feature request so I followed the suit to be honest I didn't know there was a separate forum at that time ![]()
This looks nice the only problem with that would be that there is an option to have only the reticle turned on so no outline and no visibility for users who use this mode so maybe the reticle could be affected as well if not with a color then maybe a dotted line would be fine together with color so if someone uses the reticle wheter it's with a outline rpeview or not they can still tell. This is especially useful in canvas mode but not only. I personally keep trying brush strokes to find out which mode I'm in especially in canvas only mode I switch in and out of the eraser mode inquick succession so having a visible feedback on this would really make my day if anyone ever decides to figure this thing out, thanks ![]() |

I don't use brush outline but still want to have indication for eraser mode. I like suggestion #1 because changing outline will not work for me (i use triangle cursor only)
