Seems like filter mask is applied to the area of the entire canvas, even if the image on the layer is small. And It slows the calculation down when using filter masks.
Is that right? (I'm sorry if I'm wrong...) If so, wouldn't it be good to make it matched to the actual images on the layer? |

I noticed it seems possible to do this by selecting the area that I want before creating the filter mask. I guess the reason why filter mask is applied to the entire canvas area is because people might want to modify the layer with the mask? Maybe I should just be happy with the current way krita handles this.
![]() But erasing the filter mask area doesn't seem possible though. (Not only erasing the effect, but the area itself) I'd be great if this became possible. |

Hi, you don't have to erase on the filter mask : you just have to paint with pure black to avoid the mask to apply on a certain area, and paint full white to make the mask affect an area.

You can erase&adjust the effects by that, but the area itself is not erasable. |
