Clone Brush Preview - round 2

Thu Nov 28, 2019 12:24 pm
Hi all.

About a year ago I posted a feature request to this forum for a Clone Brush preview (https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=288&t=155823&p=407144&hilit=clone+brush#p407144).

Because of its lukewarm response (besides Saru :) ) I decided to have a look at the Krita code base to see what I could do by myself. This resulted in a proof-of-concept implementation. I have uploaded a video showcasing the initial result to Youtube: https://youtu.be/G2Whg3AkGl0.

I have used a few ugly hacks which raise some architectural questions, yet I think it already works quite well. It feels great to use in Krita :).

I would like to develop and improve this functionality to ultimately be implemented into Krita, for which I Obviously would need your help and approval.
Please let me know what you think about the functionality showcased in the video and if you are interested in its further development.

Thanks!

We handle merge requests on invent.kde.org these days; you can login with the same identity as on this forum, make a fork of Krita and push commits, then make a merge request. If you want to interactively discuss stuff, join us on irc.
