Hello all!
I hope this is the right place to post...I am following the advice of the contributors manual at https://docs.krita.org/en/contributors_ ... rst-timers. I am interested in potentially joining an open source project as a developer to gain more experience. I am a CS major in my last year, and I've used Krita in the past (not an artist yet, but one day!) and like what it stands for. Krita seems like a great place to get started with open source, and I was wondering if Krita is currently accepting new developers. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Best, Shane |

Thanks for the reply! Is building Krita different than downloading it from the website? If so, where can I find build instructions?

"Building" means "compiling" here. You first need to prepare your development environment, and the biggest part of it is making sure that you can compile Krita's source code before you even make changes to it.
Manual to build Krita: https://docs.krita.org/en/untranslatabl ... krita.html List of tasks that are suitable for newcommers in Krita's code (even if you feel comfortable with code in general, it's good to start small in such a big project like Krita): https://krita-artists.org/t/beginner-co ... ement/5851 If you have any question, or you have issues when compiling or you don't know which task to choose or maybe you want to do something else, you can hop on IRC. Just note that the chat is generally less active during European night. |
