Aligning and snapping layers

Tue Aug 03, 2021 9:39 pm
So I recently downloaded Krita and right of the bat, I was blown away by it's features and the clean UI. I really like it! I definitely prefer it over alternatives like GIMP.
However, to my surprise there isn't any option to align a layer. Say, I want to centralize a layer... well I can't. I first thought that the option exists but I can't find it, but from doing some online searches, it seems that this option does not exist all. I'd say it is a vital feature of this type of application and it's really missing.
On a related note, (this feature might already exist, if it does please let me know) I'd say it's also very crucial to have the option to make the edges of the Layer snap rather than the cursor. I personally, have never had an application for cursor snapping but coming from Photoshop, I miss being able to quickly and accurately snap layers to different positions on the canvas.

There is already a wish bug for this feature. You can subscribe to it here - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338002

Thank you for letting me know about it. But wow. It's been requested since 2014 and is still not yet implemented :((
