Brush size shortcut are too slow

Wed Jul 20, 2022 7:30 am
Hi!

I'm a freelance concept artist and illustrator and an art teacher using Clip Studio Paint and I'd like to switch to Krita because I like many features in it and I prefer to promote free open source tool to my students. But for the moment I can't because the workflow is too slow for me largely because the shortcuts to change the brush size are too slow. In Clip Studio Paint I chose the size presets I wanted so I can switch my size quickly.

For exemple, in CSP, if my brush is at 100 px, I press ] 3 times and my brush is at 300 px (150-200-300), big jump, fast. In Krita, if my brush is at 103 px, I press ] 3 times and my brush is at 126 px, barely noticable jump, slow.

I tried the shift+drag but it's really slow too. I have to move all the way to the right or left of my tablet to really increase or decrease the brush significantly.

Maybe it can be solved by letting the user chose the size presets or maybe let the user configure a percentage of size increasing / decreasing on each push of the shortcut.

Thanks a lot for your great work, have a great week!
