it looks like that works if you set :
action/start_new_session=false

No, there was a bug in the lock screen theme, should be fixed in 5.8.4, 5.8.5, and/or 5.9.0 (don't recall exactly where I put it the theme changed the button placement in 5.9, so the patches are widely different)
