Window Titlebar behaviour

Fri Jun 13, 2014 12:15 pm
every second click on the titlebar of a window makes it translucant

Also, middle click on the titlebar doesn't switch to the window behind it

Edit: I noticed a similar behaviour with dragging windows, when you click to drag it right below the titlebar, i.e. menubar, it only works every second click. (Noticed it in the latest neon 5 iso in the System Settings window)

Which version of Plasma Next do you have installed (Neon ISO name, Neon package version, etc)?

Can you please clarify the issue? The video doesn't show the issue you described.

As soon as I try to click and drag the window it only works every second time.

Just to be sure: this concerns the ability to drag the window when not clicking on the window decoration, and this click + drag only works on every second attempt? (Please note that we can't see your mouse clicks in the video)

at first I thought it was the titlebar, because I was clicking right under it next to the menu, but then I noticed that I could also click and drag the whole window, but only every second time I tried. I tried to turn the option visible click option on, but it didn't work.

In the video you see me doing the same movement (dragging down and up the window), first it didn't work, then it worked, then it didn't work and so on

If you use the titlebar directly, does this occur?

This indicates the problem is in the Oxygen style - rather than KWin. To verify this is the case, please post the output from the below command, on a drag that does work and one that doesn't.
Code: Select all
xev -root

Please file a bug against Oxygen, as the above output verifies what I suspected earlier.

Known issue, Hugo should have fixed it meanwhile (unlike Qt4, Qt5 requires a mouserelease from the system to update the mouse state after sending the NET moveresize request)
I can't say which particular version contains the fix, but it should be in Oxygen (style) master.
