Please see https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Packages#Kubuntu for more information on this. I'm not sure if this is for 14.04 or another release however.

I have tried this and it works: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:neon/kf5 sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install project-neon5-session project-neon5-utils project-neon5-konsole is this actually Plasma5 or is this Project Neon version of KDE Plasma5? |

I think it's the daily version of Plasma 5 and to get (early version of) Breeze, you'll have to install some more packages. I'm currently testing/using it on my Kubuntu 14.04 (no VM) and it's stable so far, but very unpolished (as said by the devs).

That is the Neon version of Plasma 5, which will have moved on from the released code to current development I suspect.
