Hello.
Recently, I installed Linux Mint 17 KDE, I view that, its now the new KDE 5 Plasma. I search, I view how upgrade to Plasma 5 for Kubuntu (for example), but I don't view (if its possible) how to upgrade to Plasma 5 in Mint. Thanks in advance. |

BEWARE - Plasma 5 is NOT finished. I have lots of missing icons in System Settings and there are lots of things not working. Also DO NOT use System Settings > Fonts to change the size of your system fonts. I changed mine from 10 to 14 and now clicking the K Menu just flashes it on the screen, then disappears, so I have to reinstall it. There is good news though. It does not mix in with your old KDE. Instead it installs into /opt/ as a separate thing, so you can play with it and only Neon will break (I hope) and you can reinstall it to default settings easily. If you use two monitors see my post in his section and the advice about xrandr. I think I did this (in a terminal): sudo add-apt-repository ppa:neon/kf5-snapshot-weekly sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install project-neon5-session project-neon5-utils project-neon5-konsole project-neon5-plasma-workspace-wallpapers project-neon5-breeze REMEMBER - Lots of things in Plasma 5 Neon are NOT WORKING yet. Cheers, RossD |

Ok, thanks.
I test in other computer for tests and, yes, you have reason in all that you indicate, Plasma 5 is not finished. Thank you!! |
