plasma5 virtualized

Sun Jan 11, 2015 10:09 am
hi,
I try iso in qemu-kvm: kubuntu-plasma5-201501091619-i386.iso

but when live start , I view only cursor-mouse, and a black screen

I install it, but the problem is the same

I try video-card virtualized: vesa or cirrus or vmware
but same error

can you help me?

p.s.
if I run iso in real PC, all works OK

thank you

As QtQuick relies heavily on OpenGL, there may be some issues with virtualized environments. You may want to try to switch (inside the VM) to a virtual terminal, then back to the graphics output to see if the issue goes away (I know this can be done for some virtualization solutions).

I try:

- from qemu-consolle send keys: alt-f2
but but nothing happens

- from virtual console exec: konsole &
but nothing happens (cursor disappear)

- from real pc, if I run: konsole in ssh <ip-virtualized-kubuntu>
window is opened on real system

You may need to send "Ctrl-Alt-F2" rather, followed by "Alt-F7" (assuming your X server is on the VT 7).

I try:

"Ctrl-Alt-F2" ---> go into tty2

"Alt-F7" ---> go into X: black screen, no cursor

"ctrl-Alt-F8" ---> go into X: black screen with cursor
