plasma-nm bug?

Thu Jan 15, 2015 5:52 pm
Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone else finds that with Plasma 5 they have to put a plasma-nm applet on the desktop in order to have it show in the systray.

If I later remove the applet from the desktop, the next time I log in there is no plasma-nm applet in the systray and thus no internet connection!

Cheers,

P

So far everything works correctly here. Which Plasma 5 version are you using, and which distro?

Hi,

I'm using Arch Linux with Plasma 5.195 from the kde-beta repository. Had the problem with the stable 5.1 packages in Extra.

The plasma-nm applet doesn't show as an option in the systray config menu, unless it has already been added to the desktop, in which case it is listed as 'automatic load'

OK, not a bug!

A long time ago to speed up my boot time according to systemd-analyze, I removed NetworkManager.service from /etc/systemd.multi-user.target.wants .

Restoring this now means that plasma-nm is loaded in the systray on startup.
