Fedora 21 issues on plasma

Mon Feb 02, 2015 10:34 am
I installed a fresh copy of Fedora 21 last night after having problems installing plasma on Fedora 20, and it all worked well. It let me log into Fedora into the plasma workspace, so I finished setting up my install, downloading things like steam and chrome etc.

Now this morning when I try to log in, plasma gets to loading about 3/4 of the way and then goes to a black screen only showing the mouse. This is what happened on my Fedora 20 install. Any ideas how I can get it working again? Or start to find out what's going wrong?

some more info on the steps i took before it broke

installed F21
sudo yum update
added the fusion repos
installed plasma-5
yum install vlc
yum install yum-plugin-fastestmirror
installed flash
installed java
installed steam
installed dropbox

it was after that i logged out and back in today and it stopped working

Did you try disabling compositing? (Alt-Shift-F12)

Are you using the intel driver?

Try setting the environment variable LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 and see if it solves the problem.
