I have a MacBook Pro 11,3 (13-inch) with Retina display. KDE/Qt/GTK+ applications look as good as possible, but plasma and related applications (like desktop effects configuration screen) show fonts and icons pixelated.
In order to avoid confusion I will just post two screenshots: Qt 5.4.0 KDE Frameworks 5.7.0 Plasma 5.2.0 I don't think these matter but still: ArchLinux x86_64 on 3.18.6 with Intel video

Forgot to mention, that according to xdpyinfo DPI is set correctly:
Also, I did try tweaking System Settings -> Fonts -> Force fonts DPI, but it doesn't seem to change anything in plasma.

@google01103 it doesn't.
- I've set the fonts DPI, but plasma doesn't seem to take it into account - Breeze images are svg now and the menu for changing their size is disabled - I've set my screen DPI properly and I'm able to confirm that using xdpyinfo. KDE/Qt/GTK+ apps respect that and they look as good as possible, but not plasma I can't be the only one with Plasma 5 on a Retina display...

there hasn't been that much discussion on these Forums but what I've read the Plama 5 experience with hidpi is supposed to be much improved over KDE 4
couple other things to look at: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments ... _on_linux/ http://apple.slashdot.org/story/12/11/3 ... a-displays Maight be an issue is the font you are using, one suggestion on the above Slashdot page was changing the fonts to Droid |

It's not just the font. Icons are also pixelated. However, I decided to check this Droid fonts and they still look the same way in plasma and perfect in every other place.

5.2.1 shipped today, didn't see any hidpi mentions but you could try it
these are the current hidpi bugs https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?quicks ... id=1220018, you may wish to add your own and/or vote/comment on the existing ones |
