With the recent update to plasma 5.2.1 I'm now noticing that when unlocking the screen the focus is no longer on the password box. On 5.2.0 just had to wake up the screen type my password and it unlocked now I must either click on the box with the mouse or hit a combo of tab, enter, space (sometimes all three) get a wrong password message then I can type my password and it will unlock. With 5.2.0 when I typed the password it didn't show the masking bullets unless I clicked the box with the mouse, behavior with 5.2.1 is the same except password goes "nowhere".

I noticed the same thing. And it seems I'm also not the only one who is really bad at finding kde bugreport-lists to see if it's already posted. ^^

Originally I posted this topic in my distro's forum here: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=21126.0 since no one has responded I could only assume it was just me who was affected. The bug tracker was the first place I checked and the only bugs I found that were related seemed to affect kde sc 4 and were since resolved.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316084 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324821 The other thing is if I end up filing a bug about this what do I file it against? Plasma, sddm, kscreensaver? |

I don't know why or whether that is related but for some reason there's a lot of
in the ksmserver. "w" is the respective window/view. |

Has a bug report for this issue already been filed? What KDE component do I file it against? What debug info is required? |

I have had this problem in Plasma 5.14.5 on Arch Linux.
I just fixed after seeing this post: https://askubuntu.com/questions/120725/ ... reen-setup I checked both 'Active screen follows mouse' and 'Seperate screen focus'. Now I see the lock screen controls on both monitors and I'm able to type my password from either side. Edit: This only works when *I* lock the screen myself. The bug still persists when the lock screen comes up after a period of inactivity. |
