Touchpad configuration in Plasma 5

Sat Apr 04, 2015 5:41 am
Hi,

Recently, kcm-touchpad for plasma 5 was removed from the Gentoo KDE overlay. I also couldn't find it on projects.kde.org anymore. What happened to it? Is there a new way to graphically configure touchpads in KDE? Or none at all? Why isn't this part of Plasma anyway? Touchpads aren't exactly rare.
Cheers,

Malte

It will be part of the kde-workspace and so for the next Plasma release (5.3). As where to find it, I suggest you ask your downstreams.

Thanks. I'm not sure why it was removed from Gentoo, but I will just wait for Plasma 5.3 then.

I met the same problem...

Just in case you haven't found the answer. According to this commit:
https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/kde.git/ ... f4fe74c3d3

`kde-plasma/kcm-touchpad` is superseded by `kde-plasma/plasma-desktop`.

so enable `USE="touchpad"` for `kde-plasma/plasma-desktop` solves the problem.

Thank you for this hint!
How would I do this? Should there be a configuration file in a folder named "kde-plasma"? Where would I find this folder/file?
Or do you have to adjust this settings via command line?
