Window switcher, window title below window

I noticed that the window switcher shows a miniature version of the available windows and their respective title below the window contents. This seems inconsistent with the "main" desktop view, where the title is displayed above the window contents. At a quick glance this can be confusing to me. Is there a particular reason why the title appears above the window in one case and below the window in another case? Can this be modified by the user (I did not find such an option in the system settings)?

which main desktop view are you talking about where it is above the window? I just checked for the taskbar thumbnails and there the title is clearly below the window thumbnail.

Yes, for the taskbar thumbnails it is also below the window.
With main destktop view I mean the I mean the "actual" windows (not any preview or thumbnail). The title bar is above the window content there.

Ok I just thought I do a quick google image search. All environments have the window title on the top. For window switcher we have the following:
* Ubuntu: titles below
* XFCE: titles below
* Gnome shell: titles below
* OS X: titles below
* Windows: titles above

So it looks like the normal thing to do.

But the window switchers in os x, ubuntu, gnome, for instance, are organized in a horizontal manner, so there is never a doubt to which window the title belongs. I was just really confused seeing the plasma window switcher, thinking the title belonged to the window below instead of the window above. Maybe the original reason I was so confused is, that is a bit hard to distinguish between the windows on first glance. Maybe it has to do with the dark breeze theme.

Fair enough, but switching to title on top wouldn't fix this problem. One would still be in doubt.

Yes, that's true. I tried to apply the "title above content"-logic from the part of the desktop environment I encountered just before and got confused. Anyway, you proved that the design choice is not so unusual as I thought.

EDIT: It actually looks as if the title is closer to the window below, the one it doesn't belong to.
