Hello everyone. The Cashew is killing me. I know some people don't mind it, but I just can't stand it.
Now, I have searched extensively for ways to remove this abominable thing, but none of the methods I have found work. I have tried using widgets designed for KDE 4.x to no avail. I am running a variant of Ubuntu running LTS 14.04, so no Plasma 5.3 with the new disable feature for me. I have tried the steps outlined in "killing the cashew" done right, but the instructions are not working. The instructions tell me to download a file and then run the command "plasmapkg2 -t package -i emptytoolbox.plasmoid", but the I get an error stating that plasmapkg2 command is not found. plasmapkg is found, however running the command produces an error: "Could not find a suitable installer for package of type package" Please help! I am allergic to nuts! |

Those instructions are for Plasma5. In KDE4 the only way is to install some plasmoid to hide the cashew. See here e.g.: http://blog.hanschen.org/2008/10/23/pla ... he-cashew/ |
