Hello ;=)

After an update i had a slow motion behaviour of the desktop, clicking on apps was slower than usual.
Now that i rebooted the machine i have no more desktop available, i can only see "green waves" picture which is the default screen but nothing else.
How can i solve this ?

I'm using the following :
plasma5-desktop 5.4.1-104.4 (1)
mesa 11.0.0-500.1
Graphics card is Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Curacao PRO [Radeon R9 270] with radeon driver.

So Plasma seems to be running (and not crashing).

Try a fresh user account, or rename/remove the file ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc to get back the default widgets.

Where did you install Mesa 11.0.0 from, and when?
13.2 only has 10.3.0.
Maybe that's the reason for your problem?

i forgot to say i'm using kernel 4.2 from kernel stable repository ( http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... e/standard )
i rebooted the machine and plasma was still ko, went in i3 tiling window manager, and then back in kde plasma and then desktop booted as usual.
It's still slow motion though.

zypper info mesa says it comes from obs://build.opensuse.org/X11

Can you see if in ~/.xsession-errors there are reference to "kbuildsycoca"? What is the version of "kservice" that you have installed?

and please check "ps ax | grep plasmashell"
a ""green waves" picture" indicates absolutely nothing, could just be a copy to the root window from sddm/kdm.

Behaviour is still strange today :
1st boot i had a black screen, mouse only was available
went to i3 tiling manager : working ok,
back in Plasma session for 2d session boot i had the green waves, mouse only also
3d boot i had my usual desktop

here's what i have :

You have a version of KService which has a known bug. If you are using the KDE:Frameworks5 a new version should be available soon with a possible fix for the poblem.
