Testing kwin_wayland on Fedora 22

Mon Sep 21, 2015 1:48 pm
The Plasma 5.4.1 packages landed in Fedora 22 recently so I thought I'd give the Wayland preview a try. It seems that the application can't find the Qt platform plugin "wayland".

Code: Select all
startplasmacompositor

results in:
Code: Select all
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "wayland".

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, xcb.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
/bin/startplasmacompositor: line 222:  4441 Aborted                 (core dumped) kwin_wayland --xwayland --libinput /usr/libexec/startplasma
startplasmacompositor: Shutting down...
startplasmacompositor: Done.

KInfoCenter shows that I have KDE Plasma 5.4.1, Qt 5.5.0.
I also have qt5-qtwayland package installed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

qt5-qtwayland package received an update today that resolved my issue. Windowed kwin_wayland sessions now work, however, full sessions result in a distorted screen. Using radeon-si driver.
