When I try and change settings for plasma such as backgrounds in folder-view, the icon in the application launcher or any other config plasma hangs for a few seconds and the CPU increases to 100% on a single core until everything goes back to normal.
This started after the upgrade to 5.4. It must have something to do with my configuration as I do not have the issue on my laptop running the same packages.
I tried to clear all plasma config files from ~/.config/plasma* but plasma is still locking up for a about a minute
Any help would be appreciated.

Please disregard my post, I asked to soon, I removed QtProject.Conf . It some how grew to 512MB and was causing the issue.

The null characters keep going and going
