Hi,

under kubuntu 15.04 i upgraded to plasma 5.4.1.
Since them, even i type:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

kubuntu always requests to install 39 upgrades....

is there a particular bug in plasma 5.4.1 ?

thx

probably better asked on the Kubuntu forums but more info should be provided either way more information should be provided

are the version numbers of the not installed lower or higher than the installed?

do you have multiple ppa's that provide KDE packages?

can you provide a list of a few of the packages and their installed and not version numbers

It could be a possible side effect of using an unstable ppa to get 5.4. >:D

But it is actually most likely that you are not updating properly - you need to use
Code: Select all
sudo apt full-upgrade

or
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

or update using the package manager of your choice

You are not installing the full set of packages using just 'apt-get upgrade'

i've already used
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
so what is the difference with
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get full-upgrade
?

Nothing.

It is not clear where you are having the problem - is it in the terminal when running apt, or is it the update icon on the system tray?

If apt does not show anything to be upgraded in the terminal, then you are hitting a known bug in muon-updater:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347479
and others.

in the systray.

once you open the window for updates, you can see no update available but if you click on button "install updates" you have a list of 39 updates to launch.
in terminal, nothing special and in fact nothing about 39 updates to launch
