Hello,

I just added an Application widget and my desktop got stuck... And restarting my computer doesn't work.

I have 2 questions:

1. how to deal with the problem.
2. If I cannot fix it. I want to remove all the widgets on my desktop. Is there any way I can do with my console since I still have access to my console?

Thank you very much!

never done this in 5 but .......

to edit existing:
make sure plasmashell is not running, kill if necessary

    backup then edit file ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

look and then delete multiple consecutive sections starting with [Containments][n][Applets][nn], the first one should have the line plugin=org.kde.plasma.APPLET-NAME

    restart KDE or plasmashell

to reset:
make sure plasmashell is not running, kill if necessary

    rename or move ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

wait a bit, say 20 seconds

    restart plasmashell

let me know if this works

Yes it works xD

The configuration file is right which you said and I just deleted the two application-related widgets.
It seems that these widgets still relate to some kde4-based application which may be the cause of my problem.

Thank you very much!
