How do I suppress the popups which appear whenever my cursor happens to be over one of the panel items? The popup fades after a few seconds but frequently hides the window in which I'm typing. I find that annoying and I don't find any value in the popup. So I want them to go away.

KDE System Settings > Desktop Behavior > Workspace Behavior - untick the 'Show Informational Tips'
