Hi,
I just started using KDE (plasma 5, Manjaro) and I really like it so far! I noticed that it is possible to pin application ("Show launcher when not running") to the bottom panel. One thing I am used to from Unity (and Windows before that) is to be able to use <Super>+<Num> to launch applications from the panel OR switch to an application if it already has a window open. I know that it is possible to assign a custom shortcut to any application KDE, but this will always launch the application, not switch to an open window. Is it possible to enable the functionality I want in KDE or do I have to install a dock program to achieve this? If the latter, which would be a good candidate? I have tried docky, dockbarx, plank and cairo. Dockbarx is the only one that allows keyboard shortcuts. Looking forward to learning more about KDE plasma! |

Via this post http://vickychijwani.me/blazing-fast-ap ... -in-linux/, I found a nice solution called jumpapp https://github.com/mkropat/jumpapp. It either opens a new window or focuses an e when the key combination is pressed. Can be used with any panel/dock configuration.figuration.
