I haven't posted in a while, but I'm still a heavy KDE 5 user and I really like how KDE 5 is evolving, big kudos to all people involved!
I'm on Arch Linux and since the update to 5.5.2 my main panel seems to randomly disappear. I then have to add a new default panel and configure it all over again. This has happened 2 times so far, the first time I thought I might have accidentally removed the panel, but now it happened again while browsing the web. Another problem I have since 5.5.2 is that my display randomly turns itself off and on again. Here is my .xsession-errors log which seems to contain relevant log messages to my issues:
It even says "Panel Removed", but who or what removed it?! I certainly didn't this time and I also didn't get the usual notification when I remove widgets from my panel. Let me know if more information is required and I'll happily help debug this. Thanks! |

Almost the same here, but reproducible: I plugin a 2nd screen and if KScreen recognizes it automatically, the default(!) panel is moved to the 2nd screen. No chance to move it back to the primary screen. When I disconnect from the 2nd screen, the panel is gone and I have to reconfigure it. I have to do this after each disconnect from an external monitor! (It's usually a bad thing to let software do things automatically. BTW: With KDE4 I had KRandRTray, which UNFORTUNATLY doesn't work anymore. It was way smarter than KScreen...)
I'm on Arch Linux and upgraded from KDE4 around Xmas, as archlinux.org recommended to do so. HP ZBook (Intel Graphics). Paul |
