Shortcut for New Session

Tue Jan 05, 2016 5:58 pm
Hi,

I am trying to set a shortcut for start a new session on Plasma, but I did not find anywhere. I was used to the Ctrl-Alt-Ins command on KDE4, am I missing this little thing.
I searched on the Google and this forum, but found nothing about this.
There are some command for the "session switcher" or for start directly a new session on KDE5?

Oh, and many thanks for the hard work on Plasma and KDE! :)

Regards,
Jonathan

One way to add a shortcut

The command:
Code: Select all
qdbus org.kde.krunner /App switchUser

will offer the option to switch/start new session.

The command can be added to the KDE menu with the KDE menu editor.

The advanced tab has an option to add a shortcut.

you can also use the User Switcher plasmoid and assign a shortcut such as alt+ctl+ins

OpenSuse Leap 42.1 x64, Plasma 5.x

Wow, thank you very much for the blazing fast replies!
I never had considered look in this "dbus" thing before for that! Thanks for the insight Rog131! That just made my day! :)
And thank you too google01103 for the info about the plasmoid too!
