Hi,

I have a problem where the lock screen is not showing me a prompt to log back in. All i see is the wall paper from the login screen. I tried logging in on a tty and killing what seemed like kscreenlock processes, but they keep respawning and my lock screen stays at the wallpaper.

is there a way to kill the lock screen from a tty?

Thanks for posting your solution; perhaps I might use it in a cron job as a workaround for the compulsory session locking when switching users that so annoys me.
