Hello,
For about 5 years I'm using KDE4, starting from Gentoo Linux, Debian and currently on Ubuntu LTS. I have many habituations on KDE4 features, my desktop at work (I'm working as a programmer) is very organized. On first desktop of external monitor I have a web browser (for testing web development) On second desktop of external monitor I have a IDE, on laptop monitor I have code for comparison eg. a diff On third desktop I have all messagers. On fourth there is a thunderbird at full screen. Every group of applications has it's own rules defined, they cannot move between desktops if I will not allow to. The feature that disappeared in KDE5 is that every desktop had it's own wallpaper, now all desktops looks same for me which is very confusing for me, I recognize desktops by some colors which is definitely easier than by numbers. I would like to see "wallpaper per desktop" feature in KDE5. Some time ago XFCE implemented this. Maybe I should migrate? Any other votes? PS Please don't mention activities, it's not the same Thanks, Krzysztof |

The feature will be back, but not soon (it will take some time for implementation). Meanwhile, you can use activity pager widget (in Plasma 5.5) instead of default pager to mimic this feature with activities (different wallpapers per activity with activity pager). Or you can stay with Kubuntu 14.04 until this feature is implemented in Plasma 5. |
