[Clipboard Plasmoid] Connect to dbus?

Wed Feb 03, 2016 11:40 pm
Hi is there any way the Clipboard plasmoid can be connected to dbus so I can access its contents and write to it from the command line?

The use case is that I have scripts that let me copy certain chunks of text to the clipboard on a keyboard shortcut but I don't want to have to run full blown Klipper all the time in order to do so. It seems like a very simple thing to be able to do.

You can use xsel with the from the command line.
Code: Select all
echo -n "test" | xsel -i

That should take care of your use case without any code changes to the clipboard plasmoid. When I ran into the same issue, this is what worked for me. Hope this helps.
