Hello there!

Since the switch from Ubuntu 14.04 to 15.10 and Plasma 4 to 5, a lot of features are gone and not reconstructable through widgets.
From my research, Plasma 5 is still building/rewriting the widgets/layouts.

Most of the widgets are pretty unusable right now, as they only serve as icon.

For example, as I read in this article: http://www.datamation.com/open-source/1 ... lasma.html

KDE's fourth release series makes Search and Launch available as a layout In the 5.2 Plasma release, the search field is available as a widget, and you can easily add a Shelf widget below it, duplicating the notebook desktop in thirty seconds or less.

There is no such thing, the search & launch widget is now just a simple icon.
There are not really that much other widgets that make research as easy as it was back with Plasma 4.*

From the "get new widgets" dialog, not many additional useful widgets are available either.
Even the Calender is just an Icon now!
Widgets used to actually contain Informations right where you place them, at least for the desktop. There is nothing to configure in the widget settings to change that.

Are there some extra resources or solutions for getting extra layouts or useful widgets?

Thanks in advance!
