OK, I really need some help on this one. So far I've not found the cause of the actual problem, let alone a satisfactory solution.
Running KDE Frameworks 5.19.0 on openSUSE Tumbleweed (currently 20160228). I have two users, one using the default "Breeze" icon theme, and one using the "Oxygen" icon theme. breeze5-icons-5.19.0-1.1 oxygen5-icon-theme-5.18.0-1.1 The problem relates to the "Oxygen" icon user, who has some "Breeze" icons being used, as shown in these two images. The first shows the "Application Menu", note the icons for "Ark", "Gparted", and "KFind" are the "Breeze" variants. Also in the "Icon Only Task-manager" "Kate" and "Ark" are the "Breeze" variants. The second shows Dolphin, here the mime type icons are the "Breeze" variants. It is not caused by missing icons from the "Oxygen" theme. (Also "Oxygen" inherits "hicolor", not "Breeze".) It is not a cache issue. Deleting "icon-cache.kcache" (from a VT whilst not logged in to KDE), does not "solve" the problem. It is not restricted to this particular (Oxygen icon theme) user, as creating a new user (which initially has the default "Breeze" icon theme) and changing to "Oxygen" exhibits the same mixed icons. I've lived with this for a while now, it first manifested itself with the upgrade to KDE Frameworks 5.16.0, and has remained since. |
