Hello,
Today I've come across a problem that I wasn't able to fix yet. Usually I work with one external monitor plugged to my laptop. Today after plugging it in, instead on the usual behavior of extending the desktop, something went wrong and turned both monitors black and I was forced to restart the laptop. After that I've been unable to login into a plasma session, because after the splash-screen the screen turns stays black. I've tried removing the ".cache" directory and moving the ".config" to a new place to check if the cause is not some kind of corrupt configuration. After each login attempt the following shows in the syslog:
Currently I'm running Plasma 5.4 on a Debian (Testing/Stretch) system. Does anyone know how to fix this or how can I find a solution for this? |

Well, I tried the suggested command and It didn't seem to produce any result (or I didn't noticed at the time).
However I rebooted the machine and tried to login into a new session, while I still got the black screen, I tried some keys/shortcuts to switch/detect displays and got the screen back (still not 100% functional). From there I was able to get my desktop back. I'm not sure if it was from the provided command, but thanks for the help  . |
