Thank you anyway! You have been so helpfulness.
I may create a new report for this bug in KDE bugs reports. Or I will wait for wayland, hoping that it solves this issue. |

Hello,
@Rog131 , The issue with the multiscreen is just fixed today without me doing anything but updating my system. Maybe within: https://www.kde.org/announcements/annou ... 6.12.1.php ? And there is a lot of new great videos in the aerial resources. Now it is just perfect! |

=> QTBUG-49446 - Add support for gap less playback - https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-49446 Earlier: viewtopic.php?f=289&t=131783&start=15#p365313 The two player workaround is working at here. But it is only a workaround ! It is not a fix. |

Did anyone manage to fix video stopping playback after a while?

Please tell a bit more: - How long is the 'while' - How the playback is stopping. Is the media player dying ? Any error messages ? - Do you use the Power Management - Screen Energy Saving setting ? If I turn the 'Screen Energy Saving' on the screen switch off will kill the qml media player... |

Lock screen readability
Bug 369676 - White lockscreen text's readability depends on background : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369676 A workaround is to use a cover over the lock screen - with the Plasma 5.9: Adding to the plasma lock screen a semitransparent (color: "#F2000000") rectangle. The lock screen texts are on the rectangle and moving out the sight when not needed. The rectangle is moving: - up when up arrow is pressed - down when the down arrow is pressed. - mouse movement will also trigger the down movement. - after 3 minute inactivity the rectangle is sliding out of sight. LockScreenUi.qml changes as a patch: http://pastebin.com/a9PHv96b YouTube preview: https://youtu.be/7gsJkSYRIw8 |

I do not use energy saving option. This is happening on a desktop PC. Monitor does not have to turn off for this to happen. Time varies, could be 10 minutes until video stops, could be 30 minutes, while PC is in active use. It appears to be stopping on very first frame. I use gapless playback workaround so maybe it is very first frame displayed by second paused player since frame has some squary looking artefacts (much like low quality jpeg). I am not aware of any logs from dmesg/journalctl -f, are there any other spots i should check? It is hard to catch any logs since playback stops randomly and catching exact moment is hard, but i will try. |

Hi everyone !
Thanks for your work, it makes the desktop so much more alive and modern, which KDE always have been ! I've had the same issue with the video wallpaper crashing every now and then, without an explicit reason, I remarked that it happens when you try to run KRunner with the Right mouse click after a long non usage, afterwards it works fine, it happens when programs are trying to run or crash (and sometimes they do not even crash) but just when you close them, I succeded to catch the bug messages on journalctl -f
Some useful info :
When I wake the computer, sometimes it happens to the lock screen, sometimes not. I hope this helps ! Thanks a lot ! |

Hello!
It looks like the video/video playlist in the lockscreen is broken with the recents update. Now, I got a black screen when locking my session. My journalctl is outputting the following error:
Could someone explain me what is this error and how I can debug this? Do you think that I should just go to Wayland? I've read a lot of blocking issues about the wayland thing and I was thinking about waiting the next release (in january) before doing the change... |

Good to tell & where to get the information
- Plasma version - KDE Frameworks 5 version - Qt version - Ffmpeg version - GPU/drivers - Distribution - What you are trying to play, format of the media. Gui KInfoCenter: https://www.kde.org/applications/system/kinfocenter/ Cli Inxi is a good tool: - https://github.com/smxi/inxi - http://www.binarytides.com/inxi-system- ... ion-linux/ Should be installed as default Plasma version
KDE Frameworks & Qt version
FFmpeg version
GPU/drivers... Kwin support information will tell lot of the graphics:
Distribution
more: - https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/ ... formation/ - https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/find-linu ... on-number/ With the inxi

To get possible error messages
Launch the plasmashell or the lockscreen from the terminal. Plasmashell Terminal/konsole:

Known issues:
Qml mediaplayer stopped to play some formats (avi, mp4, ...) with the ffmpeg 3.4 => https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=231156 |

Wow! As the last time, your answer is beyond my expectations!
You really got the issue quickly. I tried some of the things you explained and got this error:
But I am not sure that this is related... because of the first message complaining about permissions. However, you got it right when you put ffmpeg at the possible origin of the bug as downgrading it solved the issue. Thank you for all these detailed information! I am thinking about putting all of this into the archlinux wiki. I think it would really be helpful, would you agree? |

I think that these are the missing audio errors/warnings. With the latest plasma (post 5.10) the lock screen doesn't have the audio with the video wallpaper. Maybe it is deliberate (?) As the lock screen now has the media player buttons. More known issues A quick test with the VirtualBox - Neon LTS: https://pastebin.com/QtYecqfE Video wallpaper: Video working Audio working Lock screen background: Video working Audio working - Neon: https://pastebin.com/ra3ch4La Video wallpaper: Video working Audio working Lock screen background: Video working Audio not working ! |
