Limit size of a widget on a panel

Tue Mar 29, 2016 2:48 pm
Is there a way now, with v5, to limit the size of a widget on a panel? Most widgets automatically grow as large as possible. On KDE 4.14 this was less of an issue since there were still many which automatically limited their own size to a sensible level, but fewer do that in KDE Frameworks 5.19. Task Manager and System Tray are fine, but unlike in 4.14, the Application Menu and Activities are now oversized to a rediculous degree:

Seriously? *Nothing*? This appears to be one MAJOR oversight/flaw for KDE5. KDE4 didn't have this problem.

Maybe this bug - Bug 378443 - Plasma 5 start-button gets too big when the panel is vertical. (there was no problem in Plasma 4): https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378443
