Plasma startup is extremely slow on my system: it takes a full minutes for plasma to be useable. By comparison, mate takes ~2 seconds.

However, once plasma is up, its reponsiveness is quite good. Only startup is slow.

I'm using plasma 5.6-2 on an uptodate archlinux system. Other than disabling some startup services, the plasma installation is completely vanilla: nothing has been changed.

It seems odd that startup would be so slow when plasm is otherwise quite fast. Does any have anyone thoughts about the source of the problem and/orpossible solutions?

Hi, i have the same problem. With last plasma version it become worst, I have a 4 min delay with a black screen after the splash screen.
I tried: removing plasma-nm widget, disabling bluetooth, no splashscreen and a new user. I can't find any important error log.
