I could also imagine having a search field int the bottom left and when you click into it an application manager would open and you can immediately search by writing into the panel or browse through the apps

Yes but wit an adjusted UI. I think it could be pretty cool, especially since Krunner is so advanced, there would be no need for a standard application launcher icon and if you want to look for something you just click in the search field and a application launcher will start as if you clicked the icon

maybe you should title you idea "implement krunner as a widget"
