Hi
I noticed something really odd with my new KDE desktop (Kubuntu 16.04, just freshly installed): about 1/8 of the screen at the bottom (above the horizontal panel) is not showing up my scaled background image. Putting my mouse on that part of the screen, I realised that this part is a separate desktop! Indeed it is in "Desktop" mode, while I had put the upper part in "Folder view" mode. So just to be clear: when I click the right mouse button on the upper 7/8 of my screen I get a menu with e.g. "Folder View settings", while in the last bottom 1/8 I get "Desktop settings"... I tested this by trying to move some of FOlder shortcut links from the top to the bottom: they get HIDDEN behind the lower desktop. Amazing... And then a scroll bar appears at the right of the upper part of the desktop. Does anyone have a clue about what is going on here? And how to solve this and get back to one single consistent desktop area? Is that a feature? thanks for any tips! |
