Annoying Task manager behavior

Mon Aug 22, 2016 2:02 pm
When I switch between tasks/windows/programs/applications I usually do it by clicking on the tab of that task represented in the KDE Task manager that is present at the bottom of the desktop screen. The problem with doing this however is that it keeps accidentally drag'n'drop of icons even though my intention only was to merely click on that task so as to activate it. I commonly end up with icons/widgets on the desktop that I frequently have to remove from the desktop.

Is there a way do disable that drag'n'drop "feature" from the KDE task manager? I cannot recall that I *ever* would need such a "feature" so they can safely remove this completely from the task manager, it won't be missed.

Other annoying behaviors is that when ALT-tabbing between programs, it switches according to the order the tasks are presented in the task manager. A more convenient behavior would be that it instead switches to the last priorly active application.

In addition, when the mouse pointer happens to be over the panel and I use the scroll wheel, the task manager rolls over the list of the tasks to another task. Very inconvenient. Sometimes I may be scrolling through a page in a web browser or a pdf reader. Then I accidentally hit the bottom with the mouse pointer and end up in another program.

The Task Manager settings on Plasma 5 lets you set different sorting options for tasks. When it's set to "Alphabetically", for example, they won't be dragged even if you try to do it.
