I use a vertical panel on my 1080p display since it makes better use of the space (i.e. less space wasted). One thing that bothers me is that there is no way for the digital clock to display the date (even Short and ISO) without making the panel way too wide. Does anyone know of another clock or date widget that does a better job of this?
As a point of comparison, I have a chromebook and in Chrome OS one can set the panel ("shelf") in vertical mode. The clock knows that it is in vertical mode and spreads the clock time across two rows, one for the hour and one for the minutes. So it adjusts appropriately to fit the dimensions. The same could be done for the digital clock with respect to both time and date (or just date). Is there anywhere to file bugs/wishes for specific widgets? Cheers! |

Plasma desktop is using qml scripts - You could edit the scripts to get what you want. An example: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=134970&p=361132#p361132 If you want to you could wrap your own version of the digital clock and publish it. The KDE Store is open: https://dot.kde.org/2016/09/03/kde-software-store -> https://store.kde.org Bugs/wishes are filed: https://bugs.kde.org . Clock examples: - Bug 360059 - Inconsistent and too large font used for time in digital clock plasmoid - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360059 - Bug 363165 - World clock - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363165 |

Thanks a lot! I'll try to see if I can edit the qml script myself to get the desired effect.
